Obituary
To be well-loved is to be long-remembered.
The passing of Mrs. Trifredia Owens Adams has called us together today. There is no death. An angelic form walks o'er the earth with silent tread, and bears our loved ones away; and then we call them dead. But they are ever near us, though unseen.
So in the stillness of the evening on March 28, 1987, Mrs. Trifredia Owens Adams left this life to join her Heavenly Father and loved ones who had gone before her. She was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, on July 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Jetti Owens.
She received her early education in the public schools in St. Matthews, South Carolina, and her BA degree in Elementary Education from Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She taught elementary education for 24 years in Lexington, McCormick, Edgefield and Saluda counties. She was recently retired from the Saluda Elementary School.
Trifredia was married to Mr. Frank Adams, Jr., and to this union two children were born. She joined the church at a very early age at Bethel AME Church in St. Matthews. After moving to Saluda, she was baptized and became a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church in 1968 where she became a member of the Musical Choir and the Usher Board. She served faithfully as President of the Musical Choir until her death.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her beloved husband, Mr. Frank Adams, Jr.; one daughter, Mrs. Dorcas Adams Bess of North Augusta, South Carolina; one son, Frank Adams III, Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Ms. Maude Keller Owens, Jamaica, New York; a step-brother, Bruce Owens of St. Matthews, S.C.; four grandchildren, Charles Bess, Jr., Christopher Bess, Frank Adams, IV, and John Michael Adams; one son-in-law, Charles Bess, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. PriciHa Adams; one aunt, Mrs. Susie Bowers; a father-in-law; aJfcost of other nieces, nephews and friends.

Life
Life! I know not what thou art, But know that thou and I must part: And when, or how, or where we met I own to me's a secret yet. Life! We've been long together, Through pleasant and through cloudy weather: Tis hard to part when friends are dear . . . Perhaps 'twill cost a sigh, a tear; Then steal away, give little warning, Choose thine own time; Say not Good Night ... but in some brighter clime Bid me Good Morning.
