The Obituary
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Deaconess Carrie B. Jackson Adams was bom May
10, 1930, in Gadsden, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eachmell and Julia (James) Jackson.
Carrie attended the public schools of Richland County. She was united in Holy Matrimony to John Adams with whom she recently celebrated five blessed decades of love, happiness and devotion to each other. This union of love was also blessed with the births of five children.
Mrs. Adams faithfully served all of her life at the St. Mark Baptist Church. During her tenure, Carrie was a founding member of the St. Mark Musical Choir, a member of the Missionary Society and the Deaconess Board.
Mrs. Adams possessed a love for music and her magnificent singing voice was nurtured through the teachings of her parents. As a youth she sang with church choirs and traveled to local programs to sing with her siblings. She praised ana worshiped God daily through song. She could be heard each morning at home singing as she prepared breakfast and going about her daily tasks. She loved the fellowship provided through weekly choir rehearsals and enjoyed the songs of praise rendered in Sunday morning services.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by a baby son, Eachmell Adams.
Those who will cherish fond and precious memories of Carrie are her beloved husband, John Adams, Sr. of the home; three loving sons, John (Vern) Adams, Jr., Frank (Faye) Adams, both of Gadsden, SC; and Ronald (Kathy) Adams of Hopkins, SC; one loving daughter, Dorcas (Randy) Kitchings of Wagener, SC; step-son, Rev. Johnny (Jacqueline) Catoe of Columbia, SC; nine (9) grandchildren; two (2) greatgrandchildren; one brother, Robert Odell Jackson of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Nancy Brown, Kay Frances (Luther) McDaniel, both of Columbia, SC; and Jessie M. Leake of Hopkins, SC; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.

Nothing On Earth Is Forever YoursOnly the Love of the Lord Endures!
Everything in life is passing and whatever we possess cannot endure forever but ends in
nothingness, for there are no safety boxes nor vaults that can contain the possessions we
collected and desire to retain. So all that man acquires, be it power, fame or jewels, is but limited and earthly, only "treasure made for fools." For only in God's kingdom can man find enduring treasure, priceless gifts of love and beauty-more than mortal man can measure. And the "riches" he accumulates he can keep and part with never, for only in God's kingdom do our treasures last forever. So use the word forever with sanctity and love, for nothing is forever but the love of God above!
