Dear Ben;.][written text: [added text (appears to be different ink and hand): [Stein]]]
[typewritten text: Your welcomed letter received today, you are doing wrong on putting out heralds as people expect something extra in the way or something big in a picture, and if you put them out every day, and when you do have something big, they wont pay any attention to the herald you are giving out and fivehundred [five hundred], wont pay as the cost of having the dates printed will cost to much;

Douglass pays $60.00 rent, and if you will look in the cover on one of the copy books you will find the amount and dates,

Write to the Film Board of Trade in Atlanta and ask them if there will be any protection on second run, as you are now playing the fire fighters and the other house is also playing them and if I am right the run and protection period is thirty days, and if they advise you that there be a protection period, of any days, send in a bill to the concern who sold you the picture for what damages you think it is worth, as I am pretty sure that there is a protection period and by writing them it is best to be sure, and the film company will have to pay, for not abiding by their contract, write them and let me know; and if they play any other picture right behind you make a record of it;. We have had the hottest day I have ever1/2seen [ever seen] and it is murder to be in the office, l[deleted text: e]et me know by return mail how you came out on the prize fight; Love

Your bud
