- Letter from W. S. Hungerford to Wier G. Boyd, dated April 20, 1881. Hungerford notifies Boyd of his new address in Socorro, New Mexico and asks whether Boyd has closed the sale of their property. He requests details and asks whether any new mines are successful. Hungerford facetiously inquires whether Williams has gotten into any new schemes and shares gossip that Williams and his brother-in-law are building a large ditch. He asks whether Wahl, an associate of Davis in Auraria, has done anything about getting water to the Whim Hill property. Hungerford concludes by asking to be remembered to his friends in Georgia.

Dear Sir
I write to send you my address and to inquire whether the final sale of our property has been effected. I wish you would write me the particulars. I should also like to know if there are any new finds or new mines that have been in successful operation since I left. Did Friend Williams get into any other schemes? I heard from [illegible text] that he and his brother-in-law Van Vleckand [have] been building a large ditch. Is Mr. C. [Christian] Wahl of Chg [Chicago] who was in with Davis still working his mine and did he do anything towards [toward] getting water upon Whim Hill? I have been in New Mex. [Mexico] since March 1st and expect to be here and in Ariz. [Arizona] a month or two more looking at mining property. There are some very good prospects in New Mex. [Mexico] and another year will probably see a great deal
