INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS
RESERVATION'S should be made well in advance. Deposit or
full payment payable upon confirmation. Northwest Airlines may
cancel any reservation or refuse passage when necessary to com-
ply with applicable government regulations.
SCHEBUIiES are not guaranteed, and are subject ,to change
without notice.
TRAVEE EOCITMENTS passengers must possess all valid
documents (passports, visas, certificates, etc.) required by the
laws of the countries from, over, or into which they are to fly.
Consult any Northwest Airlines office, travel agentor consulates
of countries involved for information.
Northwest Airlines will not be responsible for the accuracy or
adequacy of information supplied, nor for any failure or in-
ability of its patrons to comply with government laws, regula-
tions, orders, demands and requirements which are subject to
change without notice.
ARRIVAE AT EMBARKATION POINTS passengers must ar-
rive at designated point of embarkation in time to permit the
completion of governmental and other requirements before
scheduled departure.
CANCEEEATION AND SERVICE CHARGES passengers who
fail to cancel reserved space prior to departure of aircraft, ex-
cept when failure is for certain reasons specified in official tariff,
will be assessed a service charge of 25% of one-way fare to desti-
nation, or to the first stopover of more than six hours duration
shown on ticket, or the sum of $50 U. S. currency, whichever
is less.
CHIEBRENS PARES one child under 2 years of age and not
occupying a seat or berth will be carried free with each accom-
panying full fare paying passenger. Children under two years of
age for whom seats have been reserved, and children between
two and 12 will be charged one half the applicable adult fare,
except where otherwise specified.
ROUND TRIP TICKETS are valid for one year from date of
issue.
TAXES imposed by governmental authority are in addition to
the fare, and will be collected wherever effective.
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION between airports and designated
pick-up points will be arranged, at passengers expense.
HOTEE RESERVATIONS are not included in passenger fares.
Upon request Northwest Airlines will assist in making reserva-
tions, but availability is not guaranteed, nor will Northwest Air-
lines assume any expenses incurred in attempting to arrange hotel
accommodations.
BAGGAGE includes all luggage such as brief cases, portfolios,
and bags, packages, parcels, typewriters, camera equipment and
similar articles, either carried in the cabin or checked in the cargo
department. Other articles carried by the passenger in the cabin
such as overcoats, umbrellas and pocket cameras, will be regarded
as personal weight and will not be weighed as baggage.
PREE BAGGAGE weight allowance is limited to 30 kilos or 66
pounds on each full or half fare ticket.
EXTRA 'WEIGHT AND VAEUE CHARGES excess baggage will
be accommodated to the extent possible and will be charged for at
1% of the adult one way fare per kilo (2.2 pounds). North-
west Airlines agents will assist in arranging either surface or
air transportation for extra baggage which cannot be accom-
modated. Baggage declared at a value in excess of $100 U. S. cur-
rency, is subject to an excess valuation charge of $.15 for each
$100 or fraction thereof, in excess of $100, with a total valuation
not to exceed $5,000.
CHECKED BAGGAGE will not be available during flight. Travel
necessities, such as toiletries, should be carried in small feg in
cabin.
CUSTOM DUTIES all baggage will be examined at each country
on arrival. Personal articles intended for travel use admitted free;
all others subject to duty. U. S. residents permitted to bring back
maximum of $100 in merchandise acquired outside U. S. if the
passenger has been away for period exceeding two days.
MEAE SERVICE you are the guest of Northwest Airlines during
meal time.
TRAVEE FUNDS it is recommended that travel funds be carried
in the form of Travellers Checques, Money Orders, Bank Drafts,
or letters of credit.
STOP-OVER within the time limit of tickets, stop-over permitted
at any scheduled stop unless otherwise restricted.
GENERAL INFORMATION
PASSENGERS ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK I N AT AIRPORT TEN MINUTES BEFORE FLIGHT DEPARTURE.
All service is subject to the rules and regulations contained in Local and Joint
Passenger Tariff No. 2, on file with the Civil Aeronautics Board, copies of which
are open for public inspection in any Northwest Airlines office.
Baggage Allowance: 40 lbs. (55 lbs. to or from Alaska) free per ticket in-
eluding brief cases and hand luggage. Previous special arrangement necessary
for baggage in excess of 50 lbs. (55 lbs. to or from Alaska). Charges for excess
baggage, Vi of 1% of the one-way fare per pound, minimum charge 25c.
Value of Baggage: Not to exceed $100 for each ticket unless a higher valuation
is declared and an excess charge paid at the rate of 1 Oc per $1 00 or fraction
thereof, not to exceed a total valuation of $2500.
Childrens Fares: A child under two years of age will be carried free if held
on lap, two years of age and under twelve one-half the adult fare, twelve
years of age and over the full adult fare.
Stopovers: Are permitted at any regularly scheduled stop, but passenger
assumes responsibility of making necessary subsequent reservations.
Dining Service: You are Northwest Airlines' guest in flight during meal time.
