- Description:
- Small, hardbound book prepared by Leo Frank's appeals attorney Henry A. Alexander, Sr. that includes specimens and analysis of the handwriting of Jim Conley, the African American janitor at the National Pencil Company, who ended up becoming Fulton County Solicitor General Hugh M. Dorsey's key witness against Leo Frank, despite being a key suspect himself. The 1982 testimony of eighty-three-year-old Alonzo Mann, who, as a 14-year-old office boy at the pencil factory, had seen Jim Conley carrying Mary Phagan’s body to the basement on the day of her death, led to Leo Frank's 1986 pardon by the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
