A thank yon to Preiident Ballook:

It is easy to dedicate oneself to Agnes Scott College. There is something about this
campus with its committed faculty and staff and of course its dedicated students.
President Mary Brown Bullock '66 has devoted the past eleven years of her life ond
career to Agnes Scott as its hard working and ever present leader. The college has,
in her tenure, increased enrollment, risen on statistical charts, and generoted an
improved soclol and intellectual environment. This institution is a leading liberal
arts college filled with extremely promising students nurtured by a prestigious
faculty and talented staff. It is with great pleasure that this page is printed to
honor President Bullock and her years here at Agnes Scott. President Bullock you
have made Agnes Scott College a place where students, faculty and staff want
to come and enjoy being, and for that we are forever grateful. You addressed the
students by stating that you look forward to our yeors together as alumnae and
frankly so do we. We wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors and
hope that we shall cross paths soon and often.

Another year gone by, another yeor filled with hard work and dedication. After all the papers, tests, and projects have been
turned in and the books have been returned to the library what exactly are we left with? We are all privileged enough to
be part of on amozing community of higher education. This academic year has no doubt changed thinking, challenged
views, expanded knowledge, and developed relationships. This book attempts to capture that stimulating environment.
The Agnes Scott community is comprised of the people who participate in it and the hope is that this, the 102nd volume
of the Silhouette, summarizes all that is Agnes Scott: the energy and activity of the campus, the professors who teach and
lead the quest for knowledge, the staff who maintain the comfortable environment and support events, and the students
who learn together, work together, and party together. Whether you have been here for thirty years or only one, you have
chosen to share your life with the rest of the Agnes Scott community. So, with another year behind us, what we are left
with is our lives filled with a million memories. This book seeks to visually depict those memories and represent what we
have done and what we have shared. So here is to life, the life of Agnes Scott College.

This book was inspired by the art movement known as Pop, as well as the brilliantly simplistic designs of previous editions
of the Silhouette, published in the 1960s and 70s.

To f he Class of 2006:

This section is dedicated to a truly exceptional class.
These pages are filled with the faces of strong lead-
ers, brilliant thinkers, and devoted workers. Over the
past four years these ladies have proven their strength
and. perseverance and it has been a pleasure to be
among them. We always aimed for excellence: be it in
the classroom, the work place, abroad, or even Black
Cat. We came together when it was most needed and
committed our time and talents no matter how chal-
lenging the task. The color red has served us well,
fittingly just as bold, daring, and. passionate as we
were. The time we have spent here at Agnes Scott
College has been unforgettable and I can only hope
that the contents of this book communicate that
feeling. With great pride I would like to present the
Vixens: Class of 2006.

Exodus

The mission of Exodus is to assist in the development of the Caucasian character.
This will be accomplished through examining the following: the construction of
"whiteness ". the idea of white privilege, the ways in which members of the white
race have been socialized, and the effects of that socialization on ourselves and
other peoples. This is a group led by Caucasians who desire to improve upon their
own moral and character development, although students and faculty of all races
and ethnicities and their input are welcome.

final words

i was never suppoeed to be the editor, i joined the yearbook staff my first year
thinking it seemed like a good idea, i tried quitting almost every week since that first
semester in 2002, but for some reason my attempt to quit was always taken as an
idle threat and never worked, looking back, i do not know if it was the people or the
job that kept enticing me. it was probably both, yearbook requires an exceptional
amount of time and a number of sacrifices, it is a tail order to document a year in a
single book, especially when that task is one of many on your plate, the sflhouettQ
has been a large part of my life since starting here at agnes and it defines for me whal
it means to have a love/hate relationship, the struggles of being a staff member and
especially editor are many but at the end of the day there is so much to be proud of.
it becomes a battle to balance the amount of work involved and to maintain your
desire to produce a quality product, after spending countless hours in the yearbook
office i can only hope that it has been worth it. the end is bitter sweet, when i was

confronted with the decision to become editor i never
wanted to take the job. i was scared, but katie vesser
wanted to pass the duty on to me. she told me that
she had complete faith in my abilities and did not want
anyone else, flattery seems to always work on me.
maybe she knew that i was right for the job because
after trying to quit so many times i never actually did
and i always came back, she could tell that i loved it.
she saw how much i cared about agnes and how badly i
wanted the yearbooks to mean something to the agne
scott community, she knew that i would never lose the
drive to make the best book i could no matter the
obstical. ultimately, i guess the truth is i was always
supposed to be the editor.

ode to Ltturo (Sung to the tune of "Beer, Beer, Beer")

Let's raise a gloss to our Laura Baum; She got to travel
and sing some songs; Ate some sushi, went to class;
And never did fall on her (butt); Made lots of good
friends throughout the years; Now that it's over there'll
be some tears;
But you've always
MADE us PROUD!
We love you Laura
Baum!

Pont be dismayed by

good'byes. A farewell is

necessary before you

can meet again. And

meeting again, after

moments or lifetimes,

is certain for those

who are friends."

-Richard Pach
