- Carte-de-visite photograph of Barnard Curley. Curley joined the Southern Rifles in April 1861, becoming captain of Company A, 4th Georgia. Nearly forty years old, he returned home at the reorganization in 1862, and joined the 5th Regiment Georgia State Guards in 1863, becoming captain. The next year he served as major of the 25th Military District, and eventually became colonel of the 65th Georgia.
