- Carte-de-visite photograph of Moses Speer. Speer enlisted in the Sumter Light Guards, Co. K, 4th Georgia Infantry, in April 1861. He was wounded in the charge up Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862, during the Peninsula Campaign, and discharged becaused a disability in July. He was elected major of a Georgia militia company in 1864.
