- Carte-de-visite photograph of Samuel M. Prothro. Prothro was captain of Company I, 4th Georgia and led the Macon County Volunteers, giving up his large and successful medical practice to go off to war. He also resigned at the end of his first year, and returned to Georgia where he resumed his occupation as a doctor.
