For his anger endureth but a moment; 1n his favour is 11fe: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning . Psalm 30:5. On Wednesday morning, Apr:o1) 30, 1980 the Angel of mercy came into Memorial Hospital, Danville, Va. and took Mrs. Bessie Withers Yancey to her eternal joy. She was the daughter of the. late George and Sabe Bushnell Withers of Caswell county, born March 4, 1898. She had been in declining health for about seven months, of which she was critically ill for six days~ All of which she bore patiently and courageously; she chose to tell God rather than her family about her suffering, aches and pains.
When quite a young girl, she confessed, was baptized and became a faithful and useful member of the Red Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church and always enjoyed all phases of the services.
Bessie was married to Albert Yancey and they were blessed w1th five children, one having pre. i ceded her in death. She loved her home and family, doing what she could to make them happy and comfortable. In the community she was a real neighbor and friend, always willing and ready to help whenever she could. We will miss her greatly but we realize that God knows best and has taken her home to rest.
Her survivors are her beloved husband, Mr. Albert Yancey; 2 daughters, . Mrs. Addie Y. Hall of Hampton, Va. and Mrs . Elizabeth Y. Brown of Hi.11trest Heights, Md.; 2 sons, James Yancey of Danville~ Va. and Herman Yancey of Yanceyv.ille; 2 sisters, Mrs. lottie Russell and Mrs. Sadie Gwynn of Rte. 1, Pelham; 4 brothers, Benton Withers of Newport News, ~~
