Carrie E. Wright, a daughter of the late Richard and Maggie Clack Taylor was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
She was united in Holy Wedlock to Oscar Wright, who preceded her in
death, 1976. A devout and faithful member of First Christian Church, she served as
Church Organist, as a member of the Senior Choir and Christian Women's Fellowship. Additionally, Mrs. Wright affiliated with the Beauty of Reidsville, Chapter No. 477, Order of Eastern Star and served that organization as a Past Worthy Matron.
She was a lovely person, and lived a beautiful, Christian life worthy of emulation. She leaves a legacy oflove and service to humankind.
She suffered her illness with a Christian spirit, and succumbed to death on Saturday, April 24, 1982 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville,
North Carolina. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow, but we have faith that God will grant us
the peace of acceptance. She leaves to cherish her memory: step-mother, Mrs. Lilly M. Taylor of
Reidsville, North Carolina; two brothers, Atlas Taylor of Reidsville, North Carolina and Ed Taylor of Palmyra, Virginia; one sister, Miss Lezetta Taylor of the home; other relatives and friends.
I gave a portion ofmy soul To the world where my course was run I know that another mustfinish The task which I must leave undone. I know that no flower, no flint have been in vain In the paths which I have trod As one looks at life through a window Through life I have looked at God Because I have loved life I shall have no sorrow to die.
-ACKNOWLEDGMENT-
