Watkins Historic West End Chapel, 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, Southwest, Atlanta, Georgia 30310, Pastor Gregory L. Pollard, Officiating Eulogist, Proverbs 18:14

The hands dealt in the game of life sometimes can't be changed; Adversity placed on us like balls and chain And the pressure is enough to drain the sane;
But against all odds Uncle Billy rose up and overcame
Accepted his fate and endured the pain, Knowing he could never bare fruit to carry his name Never once did you see him down or hear him complain
Eyes full of life, smile remained the same A loving husband - definition of a man;
Self sufficient is the only way he would stand No need for assistance now God has his hand Escorting him through the pearly gates into the promise land No need for tears, time to rejoice and be glad Know that everyone he love will be by his side

A GLIMPSE INTO HIS LIFE...
B ILLY G ENE W RI G HT was born December 13,1935 in Warren
County, Georgia to his loving parents, the late Homer Wright Sr. and the late Lou Vatte Jones Wright. The years of growing up in a loving home were shared with his siblings: Mattie, Ernest, Bell, Alice, Lina Mae, Shep, Homer Jr., Bochie, Clara, Janie, Mammie Pearl, Sara and Juanita.
Billy took Mary Ann Benjamin for his wife and they lived a long and happy life together until her death. He was known for his work ethic and was celebrated for his years of service by the Bell South Company, The Presbyterian Church and the family of Dr. Davis.
Billy's devotion for his wife and his work was shared with all his nieces, nephews and others who needed care and support. He was always spoiling the kids - constantly laughing and playfully biting their cheeks.
Billy and Mary were also pet advocates and loved their pets immensely. For years, they embodied the true meaning of "pets are like one of the family"- "Smokey" was with Billy to the end.
Billy did not let age or the times keep him from becoming the "Facebook" of the family. He kept everyone up to date with birth announcements , deaths, illnesses, marriages and family congratulatory information from Warren County to Boston, Massachusetts. Billy lived the phrase that "A family that stays informed - stays in love".
He was a wonderful man who lived, loved and shared much. He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories to his sisters, Lina Mae Brooks, Man1mie Pearl Neuville and Juanita Wright; brother, Homer (Cleona) Wright Jr. ; special friend, Sally White and Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
