May God richly bless you for this. Thanks to the Mount Enon family who never forgot him. To Lucy Jett for her unselfish act of love, it was a gift to him. Thanks to the staff of Woodglen Alzheimer's Community. You spoiled Rev. Wood with your love and care. Thank you Rika for loving Rev. Wood like a daughter, when we could not be the re. Obituary
REVEREND MARK ADAM WOOD, SR., a loving husband and father, was bam on April 29, 1924. He was a native of Roopville, Georgia, Clem, Georgia and Chicago, fllinois; and a resident of Dayton, Ohio for 66 years. He departed this life on June 13, 2012 at Woodglen Alzheimer's Community.
Mark was a dedicated worker for Dayton Press (McCall's) for 35 years until the plant closed. After which, he worked for The House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
Mark was a member of M~. Enon Baptist Church for 66 years and served as the Senior Choir president for eleven years. He was the Chairman of the Deacon Board for
many years, a member of the Morning Prayer Band, the
Board of Christian Education and attended Sunday School regularly.
Mark was called to the ministry by God in the early 60's and answered his calling in 1992; and was licensed to preach the gospel. He loved the Lord and loved to read and preach the word of God, and at the drop of a hat, he would sing anytime, anywhere.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Spencer Wood and mother, !della Wood; five brothers and four sisters; and a special nephew.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years, Annie C. Wood; three daughters, Anita (Larry) Jackson of Dayton, OH, Catherine Ferguson of Indio, CA and Shirley Sanders of Trotwood, OH; one son, Mark (Sharon) Wood, Jr. of Upland, CA; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
