Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Guy Edward Wood passed away early Tuesday morning, July 9, 2013 at the Atlanta Medical Center, South campus. Born on September 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Aaron and Mary Wood of Medina, Ohio and previously of Calhoun, Tennessee. He graduated in 1955 from Buckeye High School in Medina. He graduated from Central State University in 1959 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. He later graduated from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1980 with a Juris Doctor (JD) .
Guy joined the military via the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) while attending Central State University. He received his commission in 1960 and served with the 25th Infantry Division Tropic Lightning, the 1st Infantry Division and the 2nd Infantry Division throughout his military career. He was a paratrooper, training officer and served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Guy also became a Professor of Military Science while stationed at Ft. J. Wood of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Donald Wood of Los Angeles, California; nieces, nephews,
