Obituary
Mildred Wise was born Mildred Dennis on December 13, 1929 to the late Ossie Mae and Jim Dennis in Eatonton, Georgia. Mildred spent most of her young adult life in Eatonton, Georgia where she met and married the late Roosevelt Wise in 1954. The couple immediately moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she joined the Open Door Missionary Baptist Church.
A God fearing woman and dedicated to her church, Mildred was an active member of Open Door Missionary Baptist Church for 48 years. She taught Sunday School in addition to holding many other offices in the church while working as a domestic servant until her retirement. After moving to Lithonia, Georgia to be with her daughter in 2002; she joined Salem Bible Church and became a member of the Mothers Board and later served as its president.
Mildred is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Murray and Michael Dennis , and leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Mary L. Smith (Donald), three sisters, Odessa, Eunice and Gloria Ann, one granddaughter, Andrea M. Rhymes (Dexter), one grandson, Robert Sweet, Jr., one great-granddaughter, Destini Rhymes, and one great-grandson, Dexter Jr.; a niece, Betty Murray, two great nieces, a host of cousins , God-daughter, Cosandra Fretwell (Quentin) and life-long friend Sallie Daniels.
