PROFILE

Mr. Eddie Williams was born to the parents of Mr. Candies Williams and Mrs. Pearl Gant Williams on J une 29, 1920 and departed his life on April 8, 1984.
Eddie served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War I I. H e was a retiree of Cherokee Brick and Tile Company. Eddie known as ''Scooter'', was also a barber at t he Black Derby for many Bibb and J ones Countians.
At an early age Eddie joined the Sand Creek A.M.E. Church and worked deligently and faithfully unt il later years when he moved his membership to Saint Mark Baptist Church. This was his move to work untirely for the uplifting of God's kingdom. Working at Saint Mark was a joy to Eddie, serving in many areas of t he church. Deacon on the Deacon Board, Chairman of t he Building Committee and Assistant Church Clerk, and any other activities that he could be of service.
He joined in Holy Matrimony with Annie Whidby under Rev. S.M. Myrick December 27, 1941 in which six children were born of which five survived: Geraldine N. Ware and Paulette W. Davis of Macon, Georgia, Patricia Ann N. Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Edward and Donnell Williams of Macon, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. E lsie Echols of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers: Mr. Candies Williams and Mr. Willie Williams of Macon, Georgia; four grandchildren: Damon, Courtney, Ashley and Jimese; several aunts, seven sisters-in-law; one son-in-law, Jim Davis of Macon, Georgia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
