Adel Williams departed this life on Saturday, October 16, 2004. She was born on January 19, 1927 in Sparta, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. David Butts.
Adel was educated in the public schools of Hancock County. At an early age, she l'eceived her religious training from St. Mark AME Church in Sparta, Georgia. After moving to Atlanta, she became a member of Turner Monumental AME Church where she was a member for more than 40 years.
Adel was a virtuous woman whose purpose and goal in life was to please her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and grandmother. Adel was a loving person whose kindn.ess was reflected in her passion for setvice to mankind. She served on various committees and auxiliaries in her church as well as serving in leadership positions in community groups and civic organizations.
She leaves to mourn and to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years, June Williams; two children, Mary Delois Whitley (Leon) of Rex, Georgia, and R01urie Williams (Beverly) of Stockbridge, Georgia; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a loving sister, Sally Roberts of Elizabeth, New Jersey, two nieces, Patricia Ann Roberts of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Shirley Butts, of Atlanta Georgia, a devoted niece, who provided special care and comfort. In addition to numerous other relatives> neighbors, ftiends, as well as a loving church family and very special friend of many years Hannah Brown.
