In 1934, Melrose received his B.A. Degree from Claflin Colleg~ and}lis_M._'l\.
Degree fromN~w Yor~1J!!i;vers\ty in 1.9.54. - .f9ta -to~qJ..qf1.J?.Y~af~, ~~~~rved the Cherokee County Schools a.~ -;:tn.instructor, , assistant principal and principal in a
number of schools in Gaf~"rtrr,.a~d ~la~~f(~~~~ ~~Jr~r~ his tremendous dedication
was evident. Melrose was also a WWII Vet2ran where he served his country in

the U.S. Navy.

Melrose lived a full, rich life, and much of the richness in his life came from

his involvement in his bel~':~fraternity, Phf J?eta Sigma, Inc., the Boy Scouts,
