c~~D:. Washburn, affectionately known as Eva Mae, Mommie, Grandma Eva and Memaw, was born the late Marion and Mary Porter on February 28, 1929 in Leesburg, GA.
She attended primary and secondary school in Titusville, FL. As a teenager, she moved with her father to Atlanta, GA. Eva accepted Christ as her personal savior early in life and was dedicated to living a godly life. She was a faithful member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church where she served in many ministries including the choir, usher board, church secretary and mother's board.
Eva spent all of her adult life in Atlanta where she was a licensed master cosmetologist with an earned Ph.D. in Cosmetology. She was a sought out fashion model, successful entrepreneur and active member of the Atlanta Beauty Culture League and Theta Nu Sigma Sorority, Incorporated. Although she was a busy, prominent business owner in the metropolitan Atlanta area, she still enjoyed the union of marriage to the late John William Dudley and Carl Washburn; and the divine birth of five beautiful children. One of her children, Dr. Randy D. Dudley, preceeded her in death. She was a devoted wife and loving mother with a heavenly spirit towards her family and friends.
Eva later joined Antioch Baptist Church North under the pastorate of Rev. Cameron M. Alexander. She served as a committed member of the Matrons Ministry and the Mother's Ministry. Eva loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She actively volunteered with local senior facilities and opened her home on numerous occasions as a foster mother to help nurture underprivileged youth. Eva was a beacon of light to many who felt hopeless and alone. Eva was a mother, sister, aunt, friend, confidante and pillar of wisdom serving and encouraging anyone that she would meet.
Eva is survived by four children, Rutha Brown, Marian (Charles) London, Johnny (Cathy) Dudley, Cheryl (Anthony) Jackson; three siblings, Lillie B. Luke of Titusville, FL, Jessie Porter of Titusville, FL and Barbara (Stanley) Jones of Atlanta, GA; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins neighbors and friends.

A time to be born, a time to die; A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted."
