OBITUARY
Ms. Geraldine Jewel Ware was born February 22, 1921 in Bibb County, Georgia to the late Henry 0. and Mable G. Ware. She departed this life on June 8, 2001, at Eastview Nursing Home.
She was a lifetime member of Saint Paul AME Church where she served as a member of the gospel choir, Phyllis Wheatly Club and coordinator of the church scholarship funding program until her health failed.
She attended Ft. Hill School (now Burdell Elementary), Ballard Normal School, and Ft. Valley State College (i.e. University) where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in the field of English and a Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance. She was an English teacher at Ballard-Hudson High School and Counselor at Central High School. She was a member of the Georgia Association for Educators and Bibb Association for Educators. She retired in June 1983 with 40 years of service.
She leaves with loving memories, one sister; Mrs. Vivian Ware Cooper; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dessie Ware Hill of Macon, and Mrs. Geraldine Ware of Chicago, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Robert Brown of Macon; and first, second and third generations of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
