OBITUARY
Ellen Roberts Veal was born April 27, 1909 in Putnam County, Georgia to the late Frank and Sallie Driskell Roberts. To that union were born six children: Benjamin Franklin Roberts, Jr., Berry Roberts, and Rufus Roberts, all deceased. Survivors are: Anna Carrie Roberts Appling and Pauline Roberts of Covington, GA.
She was married to the late William Calder Veal at Holsey Temple C.M.E. Church where she served in many capacities including the Gospel Choir during the forties and fifties.
Mrs. Veal was a member of the order of Eastern Stars, Ft. Hill Chapter #178 and a past Worthy Matron. She was a businesswoman, owner and operator of Veal's Beauty Shop for many years.
Mrs. Veal leaves to mourn: a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Macie Z. Perdue and Washington P. Perdue, Sr.; three grandchildren, Anita Perdue Ross, Vickie Perdue, Scott and Washington Perdue, Jr.; five great grandchildren; two grandsons-in-law, Benjamin Ross, Sr. and Chico Scott, Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
