Obituary
Mother Willie Ruth Walker Tyler was born, February 12, 1928, to the late Mr. Will and Mrs. Donnie Hardaway, in Atlanta Georgia, the ninth of twelve children. She was educated in the Atlanta Public School System, where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. It was her deep compassion of caring for others that drew her to Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduating; she entered the United States Army Nurses Corp., excelling to the position of First Lieutenant. During her career, she was stationed in Virginia, Japan, Korea and many other locations. Mother Tyler retired after 42 years of nursing, in which 24 years were at Grady Memorial Hospital, as a Pediatric Emergency Clinic Head Nurse. With that love and compassion, an attribute shown throughout her life, she later joined in matrimony to Mr. J.T. Tyler of Memphis, TN. To this union was born a daughter, Elaine, and a son, Paul Tyler. Mother Tyler joined the Move Of God Church where she worshiped for 28 years, accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Welcoming the honored position of Head Mother of the Mother Board under the leadership of the late Pastor Edward Harris, and now Senior Pastor Francis Harris. Mother Tyler later became a member of the Kingdom of Christ Church Ministries, under the guidance of Pastor Anthony M. (Tony) and Lady LaGail Walker, where she also joined the Mother Board, giving guidance, words of inspiration and prayer to many in their time of need. This Virtuous Woman leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Rev. Elaine H. Tyler, and Mr. Paul A. Tyler; one brother, Mr. Norman Hardaway; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, the Move Of God Church, and Kingdom Of Christ Church families.
