Obituary
Mrs. Mary Smith Turner was born December 31 , 1916 to the late Mr. Claude and Julia Smith. They resided in Ellington, Georgia. Mrs. Turner was the first born of 10 children. She was married to the late Mr. Jessie Turner, a union which lasted for 50 plus years.
Mrs. Turner was a long-time and devoted member of Turner Monumental A.M. E. Church where she served 50 plus years in various capacities. She was an active member of the Stewardess Board and a member of the Daughters of Turner. Mrs. Turner was a prayer warrior, who enjoyed praising the Lord. She will be remembered for her many testimonies and special way of singing hymns of the church. She also attended Bible Study regularly before her health began to decline.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a brother, Eddie (Julia) Smith; Three sisters: Julia Mae Simmons; Jean Amica; Jimmie Lee Smith, all of Atlanta; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
