The Reverend Michael Baldwin, Pastor Officiating
Martinez Denard Turner was born August 17, 1972 to Michael and Angela Turner. He departed this life August 17, 2010. Martinez attended East Point Elementary School and Campbell High School.
He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life: his loving mother, Angela Washington; his father, Michael Turner (Annette); his son, Marquis Scott; daughter, Constance Williams; five sisters, Tequanda Turner (Jeff), Michelshia Mack, Catrice TurnerColeman (Mark), Ashley Turner Hicks (Fred) and Jessica Turner; three brothers, Michael Turner, Jr., Michael Turner ill, and Roderick Yancey; who preceded him in death; grandmother, Beverly Washington; grandfather, Jr. Turner; god-sister, Melissa Burney; best-friends, Willie Parks and Mark McDay; two aunts, six uncles, three nieces, three nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He Only Took My Hand
Last Night I was trying to sleep, Martinez's voice I did hear. I opened my eyes and looked around, but he did not appear...
He said: You've got to listen...you've got to understand. God didn't take me from you He only took my hand.
When I called out in pain that day the instant that I died He reached down and took my hand and pulled me to His side.
He pulled me up and saved me from the misery and pain. My body was hurt so badly inside I could never be the same.
My search is really over now... I found happiness within. All the answers to my empty dreams and all that might have been.
I love you all and miss you so. And I'll always be nearby. My body's gone forever. But my spirit will never die! And so, you must all go on now,
Live one day at a time. Just understand! God didn't take me from you, He Only Took My Hand.
