A Time to Be Born Barbara Diane Middlebrooks Turner was born the first of six children to the late A.J. and Glady 1\Iiddlebrooks on February 3, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.
A Time to Plant and a Time to Reap Diane graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1959. She continued her education at Clark tlanta University where she obtained both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. She was a devoted and masterful teacher in the Atlanta Public School System until her retiren1ent.
Diane accepted Christ at a young age and worked tirelessly at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in tlanta, Georgia. She served there faithfully for most of her life until the Lord saw fit to tran ition her to serve at Beulah Missionary Baptist_Church beside her husband Leonard.
Diane had a highly devoted commitment to practice the love thy neighbor adage and a desire to improve on and eliminate social ills. To this end, Diane developed and administered to tutorial programs, summer Bible schools and camps, and after school programs during her years at Mt. Calvary.
~.. For 30 years or more, she tirelessly worked within the American Business \~'omen's Association, SCLC \~'omen and as a Deaconess at both Mt. Calvary and Beulah Churches.
A Time to Love Diane married Leonard Turner on January 15, 1967. During this union of love, together they reared one male child, Urea Cloud, into an outstanding man, husband, father and practicing minister.
Diane has a large family of loving and devoted nieces and nephews. Those most closest to her were Rhonda Barnett, Samantha and Joe Ellington, Pam Houseworth and Tina Cabbie all of whom she aided in rearing, education and their travels toward successful adulthood. Also love abounded between Diane and a group of 1st cousins. This love was akin to the love between brothers and sisters.
ATimetoDie Diane transitioned from this earth on Friday, April 10, 2015 at' Grady 1\1emorial Hospital after a very brief illness. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Coretha Middlebrooks Barnett, LaVerne 1v1iddlebrooks Ellington, and Patricia lVIiddlebrooks Houseworth; brothers, John Albert Middlebrooks and Dwight lVIiddlebrooks.
A Time to Mourn Barbara Diane Middlebrooks Turner leaves behind a treasured immediate family: her husband, Leonard Turner; Urrea Cloud (Carlotta) and their children, Briana L., NaNesi 1\t1, Naiya I, and Urrea II Cloud; special nieces and nephews, Rhonda Barnett, Samantha and Joe Ellington, Tri..11a Cabbie, Pam Houseworth; a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and devoted friend .
