Obituary
Through the miracle of birth, a son was born on November 17, 1941 to Mrs. Charsie Mae Tuggle and the late Mr. Joe Velton Tuggle, Sr. They named him Alex Cleveland Tuggle, affectionately called A. C. and "Slappy". Born in Newton County (Covington), Georgia, he was the second of four children.
His spiritual motivation and guidance was received at an early age when he joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Covington. Serving his church faithfully during his youth, A. C. sang in the church youth choir, attended Sunday School and actively participated in the church's youth group. A. C. was a graduate ofR.L. Cousins High School Class of 1960. He was a member of the high school basketball team and the school chorus. Music was his passion which led him to become one of the original members of the Faithful Gospel Singers. After his father's death, A. C. became the primary caregiver of his mother who was "his heart". In 1961, A. C. married Evelyn Dewberry; to this union two sons were born. One son, Anthony Craig Tuggle, preceded him in death. A. C. loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He was a very congenial and joyful person who was loved by his family and his many friends. A. C. never met a stranger and he will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Evelyn D.
