An 84th Birthday Celebration

We thank you Lord for this special day That we have set aside.
To honor someone who is dear to us all A woman with great joy and pride.

A woman who has a loving smile That could brighten up any day. A woman who has a heart of gold That touches us all in a special way.

A woman who is always giving And helping when she can.
A woman who brings a garden to life With the magic of her hands.

A woman who loves to cook And spend time with her family and friends.
A woman whose constant wisdom Will never fade or end.

A woman who is a mother, A grandmother, a great-grandmother too. A woman who built a strong foundation From which her beautiful family grew.

The woman that I speak of Is like a star glowing in the night. She resides in Hogansville, Georgia Where she spreads her love so bright.

Mrs. Mozelle Young Thrash We bring you a personal greeting today. As we congregate to show how much we love and
appreciate you On your 84th birthday.

Mozelle Louise Young Thrash was born in Hogansville, Georgia on October 2, 1911 , the eldest child of the late Raymond and Velma McKinley Young. With the untimely passing of her mother during childbirth, Mozelle was lovingly raised by her devoted grandparents Will and Georgia Ford also of Hogansville. Enjoying a full and joyous childhood, Ms. Mozelle and her grandparents worshipped at the Springfield Baptist Church which she joined at an early age and maintained a lifelong membership.

Ms. Mozelle graduated from East Depot High School in

LaGrange Georgia and went on to be trained as a teacher at the

State Teachers and Agricultural College in Forsyth, GA. A

school founded in 1902, consolidated in 1939 with the Fort

Valley High and Industrial School to form Fort Valley State College, and in 1996 to become Fort Valley State University. During her career as an educator, she taught in the Shiloh

OBITUARY continued
A lifelong resident of Hogansville until the age of 90, Ms. Mozelle was blessed with good health during her years there. However, she maintained her relationships with her many friends and relatives in Hogansville and was frequently able to visit them and her home.
Known for her beauty and attention to fashion, Ms. Mozelle understood and often spoke of God's wonder and nature's beauty. She always appreciated a gift of flowers, a small nosegay, a huge arrangement or a plant for the garden. A beautiful spirit, who lived a beautiful life and leaves a legacy of commitment to God and family,
Ms. Mozelle's brothers; Orris, Walker, and Edward Young and two grandchildren; Robert Wendell Thrash and Laniesha Yunkhia Pryor preceded her in going to eternal rest.
