Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the L ORD
for ever.

Charlene White Thrash was born March 17, 1931 in Jonesboro, Georgia to Idous and Henrietta White.
Charlene loved and adored her family. She was protective of her children, granddaughter and great granddaughter and had no problem putting anyone in their place if she felt they were threatened or being taken advantage of in any way.
Charlene was a proud, strong-willed and outspoken woman but felt most comfortable behind the scenes, never feeling a need for the spotlight because once she was on the scene you knew of her presence. She took pleasure in providing for her family and prided herself on never needing assistance form anyone when it came to the care of her children. She was such a trooper fighting the dementia battle for almost 9 years when statistics show that the battle is normally over after 7 years.
Charlene had a passion for exercise and was a part of a walking group until the day her health started to decline.
Charlene was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Terrence Curtis, who she loved dearly. She worked in their Kitchen Ministry until March of 2008 after surviving a stroke. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23.
Charlene began her employment with Delta Airlines on March 3, 1969. She was a dedicated employee and often praised her employer for taking such good care of her family. She retired in 1993 after 24 years of faithful service.
Charlene was united in marriage to Charlie Frank Thrash, Jr. for 55 years. He along with her devoted daughter, Valerie J. ThrashThornton preceded her in death.
Charlene leaves to cherish her memory a dedicated daughter, Lamonica Thornhill; a second daughter, Katherine Parks; a loving granddaughter, Sheronda Beasley, whom she raised from a toddler; a sweet great granddaughter, Heaven-Leigh (LaDerious) Smith; greatgreat grandson, Moses King Smith; sisters-in-law, Lottie Harris, Leila Thrash and Jennie Cameron; brother-in-law, Melvin Thrash; son-inlaw, Archie Thornton; devoted friends, Mother Vernell Mathews, Irene King, Carolyn King and Jessie Kate Vaughn; supportive and loving caregivers, Elois Harris, Viola Brown, Sharon Smith and Melanae Evans; guardian angels, Derrick and Patricia Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
