HIS JOURNEY'S JUST BEGUN
Ellen Brenneman
Don't think ofhim as gone away, his journey's just begun, life holds so many facet:;, this earth is only one.
Just think ofhim as restin, from the sorrows and the tears in a place ofwarmth and comfort, where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishi,:g that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think ofhim as living in the hearts ofthose he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.

Brother Wallace R. T:Rompson Ill
WAil~~CE R. THOMPSON Ill was born on October 17, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia. He
transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Wallace was the only child born to the late Wallace Reeves Thompson II and Annie Mae Thompson. He accepted Christ at an early age and was confirmed in the United Methodist Church. As an adult, he transferred his membership to True Life Baptist church.
He graduated from Henry McNeal Turner High School in 1968. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Morehouse College. He played football and wore the number '85' in high-school and college. Wallace spent his career as a Health and Physical Education teacher at various Atlanta Public Schools. His teaching style was magical and life transforming. Wallace retired from the Atlanta Public School System after 40 years as a dedicated and devoted educator. He enjoyed coaching youth league cheerleading, football and basketball and was affectionately called "Caach". Wallace also encouraged students to be fire marshals and safety patrols which resulted in him receiving several awards. He demonstrated his generosity and personal commitment by supporting various non-profit organizations, especially Greenspace initiatives.
Wallace was married for 23 years to Sandra who was the love of his life. Wallace was a devoted parent to Ira, Garry, and Keneisha, and a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. Wallace and Sandra were soulmates who consistently celebrated their marriage covenant with God on the 28th of each month. They shared a special bond and were inseparable; and Wallace would serenade his wife to express his love. He was a "die-hard" Falcons fan ... he loved the "Dirty Birds". Wallace sported '85' on his Falcons .~P.rsey to represent his high school and college football activities. Wallace and Sandra were S1eason ticket holders, and they enjoyed attending games.
Wallace leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Sandra Thompson; children: Sherrilyn, Ira, Garry, and Keneisha (preceded him in death); grandchildren, great-children, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, and other relatives.
