Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words As any friends could say,
Perhaps you were not there at all, But thought of us this day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you so much, whatever the part.
The family of the late Shirley Ann Thomas.

Shirley Ann Thomas was born October 6, 1939 to the late Lizzie Kate Robinson and Samuel Adams. She was the third child offour children.
Educated in the Jasper County School System, Shirley graduated in 1959; always reminding her children and
grandchildren that she
"skipped a grade and completed two in one year" and was also ambidextrous (both left and right handed).
Being raised in the country by "grandpa" Shirley didn't get to do a lot of entertaining, but there was that one special fella that was able to win Shirley's heart and gained grandpas approval. The love of her life, Raymond Thomas; they formed their union on February
16, 1970 and to this union two beautiful children were born, Shari
and Terrell.
Shirley was a full time mother who took great pride in her household yet maintained a full time job. Working
for Lithonia Lighting for 28 years she gained many friends and many special .............._.....~- ~ relationships. Her most devoted friend during her good health and even in
her days of illness was that of the late Johnnie
Mae Floyd.

The epitome of a virtuous woman; Shirley was one who loved God.
Accepting Christ as her personal savior at an early age Shirley joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in Shady Dale, GA. Then she later united in Christian love with James Paschal Baptist Church in Covington, GA. Upon the birth of New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries, Oxford, GA; Shirley became an intricate part of this ministry. Serving faithfully as church secretary, treasurer, held her position on the usher board, then eventually joining the mother board. Shirley could always be found carrying her bible, her briefcase and a grape Gatorade for her pastor whom
she adored.
Shirley had special qualities when it pertained to cooking. Whether it was cheese and eggs that were
good no matter hot or cold; herfamous cakes or even her popular cream cheese pies. Nobody could do it quite like her. There were always "house rules" when she had a cake in the oven and everyone knew "NO BUMPING"! Being the creature of habit that she was, certain things were always going to be the same no matter what; those daily phone calls to her favorite aunt Louise; stopping at the grocery store every Sunday after church and a cold Coca Cola hid
so the kids wouldn't try to drink any.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2; A Time for Everything; a time to live and a time to die

Shirley transitioned to her Heavenly home on September 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Thomas, mother Lizzie Kate Rob-
inson, andfather Samuel Adams. Siblings Annie Leach, Terrell Shy and Addie Dabney.
Shirley leaves a legacy of love and wonderful memories with her children; daughter Shari Latavia Thomas, son Raymond Terrell Thomas. Three
grandchildren; Shemaiah Eriaun Lawrence, Tobiah Quantez Thomas and Messiah Quantei Thomas. Three great-granddaughters; McKenzie D'Metra Lawrence, Carlyn Anne' Anderson, and Morgan Camryn Cook.
Sisters in law; Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Rebecca) Hubbard, Mrs. Louise Sanford, Mrs. Roxie Patton, Mr. &
Mrs. Jessie (Kathryn) Smith, Mrs. Patricia Benton, Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Aiken. Brothers in law; Mr. & Mrs. Linton (Marva) Thomas and Mr. & Mrs. Allen (Shirley) Thomas. Special care taker at West-
bury Healthcare, Ms. Lucy Theodore.
As well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
