Was bam to the late John Wesley Thomas, Sr. and Grady Mae Thomas on January 2,1951.
He was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and graduated from Washington High School in 1969. After high school, he attended Clark Atlanta University where he was a football star (#73) and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business in 1973. 1 John was employed in management as Operations Supervisor for Rich's Department Stores and Operations Manager for Trailways/Greyhound Bus Services for many years.
He was married twice and from these unions, a daughter, Ebony and a son, Sean, were born .
In his later years, John joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, GA under the leadership of Reverend Jerry D Black.
After a lengthy illness, John was called to rest on January 13, 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Ebony Thomas (Telly), Sean Thomas (Katrina), Saidah Kinnerman (Denecko), and William Royster; two grandchildren, Marcilee and Denecko, Jr.; brother, Lonnie Wright, Jr. (Ruby); nephew, Keylon Wright; a very special cousin, Faye Howard Ogletree; and a host of other relatives and friends.
"Pig", as he was affectionately known by his family, had a love for life. He enjoyed being around people, reminiscing about the "good old days" and having a good time. He was known for his infectious smile, heartfelt laughter, and joking demeanor. He was a joy to be around. He was loved so much and will be missed by many. May God rest his soul.
