THE OBITUARY
MRS. IRENE THOMAS was born January 2, 1929 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Katie Brown.
She was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Thomas in October of 1947.
She was a faithful member of The Little Salem First Christian Church in Reidsville, N. C. She was well liked and a friend to everyone she met.
Our mother will live on in our lives. She was just like that old tree standing by the river that could not be moved. She was strong and fought many battles in her lifetime.
On December 5th the battle was over and momma had won. She now has a new pair of legs that God has made. Sickness nor the world can take them away again. She's walking around in glory, shouting and praising our Lord. She's happy, shes found peace at last.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Clarence Thomas; one son, Curtis Lee Thomas of Walkertown, N. C.; three daughters, Sedalia Ledbetter of Dale City-, Virginia, Brenda Simms of Greensboro, N.C. and Katherine Talley of Jamestown, N. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Jones of Hampton, Va., Mrs. Margaret Bell of Reidsville, N. C. and Ms. Louise Brown of Greensboro, N.C.; two brothers, Mr. George Brown of Cleveland, Ohio and Mr. Kenneth Brown of Reidsville, N. C.; eight grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
A loving wife and mother has gone to rest.
In a land where theres love, peace and happiness.
No more pain and suffering will she bear.
Shes gone to meet Jesus in the air. We will miss her warm smiles
and tenderness Her consideration for others even when in distress
She leaves with us memories of joy and peace,
and a love for one another that will never cease.
