George Wilson Thomas, Jr. was born on January 16, 1945 to the late Lucille and George Wilson Thomas, S'" While living in Fourth Ward , George attended schools in the Atlanta Public School System (C.W. Hill Elementary School and David T. Howard High School). At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
George was a hard worker who loved country music. While working in construction, he joined the local union. He was a very funny man who never met a stranger.
George was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucille and George Wilson Thomas, Sr.; daughter, Stephanie Thomas; sisters, Pearlie Mae Gober, Ida Mae McCants, Mary Frances Thomas, Virginia Crawford and Jeannette Smith; and one brother, Edward Keith Thomas.
George answered his c:all to glory on December 26 , 2012. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ma,.n:e Strong; five daughters, Angela Thomas-Dobbs, Kimberly Thomas, Angela Strong (David), Sheila Harris (Don), Felicia Bell (Morris), one son , Darrius (Ri co) Buckner); five grandchildren, Anslie Dobbs, Kimyata Thomas, Lakethia (Sheree) Phillips, Shaquiel Thomas and Brian Dobbs; one great grandson, Pizzarrius (Duke) Christian; two sisters, Willie Joyce Fields and Dorothy Taylor; three caring nieces, Shirley McCants, Patricia Williams, and Constance Powell; one caring nephew, John McCants, Jr., two brothers-in-law, two sistersin-law and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
