The Reverend Chekibe C. Holman, Pastor Officiating
Eugene Tenny, fondly known as "Sonny Boy" was born on August 19, 1948 in East Point, Georgia, where he attended East Point Elementary School.
Later in life, Eugene became a member of New Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he played the drums and was a drummer for Jesus. Eugene was a very gifted drummer and played drums for other churches and many gospel groups.
Eugene was employed with the City of East Point Sanitation Department for forty years. He spent his life trying to help people; he was a people person. He loved many people and was loved by many. He was constantly said, "I keep God before me
-I put everything in His hands -and Be Blessed." Eugene leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Mr.
and Mrs. Anthony Tenny (Marcella), Mr. Eugene A. Tenny (Charonda), Ms. Mariea Tenny-Knox and Mr. Sanchez Tenny; four sisters, Ms. Willette Wright, Ms. Delores Thomas, Ms. Gloria Westmoreland (Ricky) and Mary Colbert (Roosevelt); one brother, Terry Tenny; nine grandchildren, Antryce, Latrianna, Jaylen, Lequavius, Asia, Eugene, Jr., Shaniyah, and Jamarion; one great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Poem for Uncle Sonny Boy
Hey don't cry over me. Dance with me. Can you hear the beat of my drum.
Hey get right with God He is coming back. Hey He came back for me.
All the days I beat my drum; I had fun. I talked to God about my life and ask Him how did I do. God smiled at me and said, "fob Well Done My Son."
Well after all that's been said and done I guess I will go with God and beat my drum. Now all the Angels in Heaven can dance with me
And all my family can remember me. I'm free from this old world.
So don't cry over me. Get right with God. To my family I love you and God bless you all.
Stay strong- Angels live forever. Merry Christmas -Sand
