Benjamin J. Teal, Jr., 67, of Lithonia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Halcyon Hospice. He was born in Tifton, Georgia to Benjamin Teals and Willie Mae Perry. He spent his CHILDHOOD IN TlFTON, GEORGIA AND MlAMI, FLORIDA, AND HIS ADULT life in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ben, or "Lil Ben", as he was affectionately known, was employed at B & E Jackson & Associates in Atlanta as a Civil Engineer. He
ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIS JOB AND WAS EMPLOYED THERE UNTIL HIS ILLNESS. He was a very sociable person and enjoyed spending time with
others. He loved God and his church and he appreciated the
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON THE DRAMA MINISTRY, SECURITY MINISTRY
and the Bowling Team. He served in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge after serving four years.
On September 10, 1976, he was united in holy matrimony to
Marilyn Belinda Smith. To tliis union, a daughter and a son were
BORN, DeNEKA LyNETTE AND BRL4N JaBRAYAR, RESPECTIVELY.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, both of his PARENTS, AND HIS SISTER, GLORIA. HlS AUNTS EVA McCoy, RUBY BlOOM,
and Rosa Little and uncles Lonnie Lester and Burke Cunningham
ALSO PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.
Mr. Teal leaves to cherish his memory his children, Deneka and Brian; GRANDCHILDREN, DeMARI TeAL, DeANDREA BRANTLEY, AND DORIAN Lynch; step-mother, Doretha Teals; aunts, Rosenelle Little and Lillian Cunningham ; uncles, Frank and Oscar Cunningham;
BROTHERS, RAYMOND (BARBARA) TeAL, DENNIS (BARBARA) PERRY, ROGER Perry, Wayne Collins, and Darrien Teals; sisters, Joyce Teal, Lisa (Oscar) Patterson, Belinda Green, Roslyn Teals, Bennie Mae King, Dorothene (Earnest) Taylor, Bertha (Lorenzo) Williams, Diane Teals and Geraldine Coleman; nieces, Yalonda Jester and Monica
Brown; as well as many loving cousins, other nieces, nepliews and
FRIENDS.
