Ellen Taylor Rucker "Toody" was born January 30, 1945 to the late Deacon Grady and Ruby Taylor. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathaniel Taylor and Sam Taylor; and two sisters, Betty Taylor and Peggy Taylor. Toody attended school in East Point, Georgia. Shortly after school, she united in Holy matrimony to the late Mr. Linsey Rucker.
Toody retired from Krystal after 20 plus years as a manager of several stores. At an early age she joined Neriah Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor R.N. Martin, where she served as secretary and lead singer of the Gospel Choir. After retirement she joined the East Point Neighborhood Watch and kept her door open at all times to talk to her friends and the children in her neighborhood.
Toody, in her last years, was a resident of Heritage Health Care Nursing Home, where she kept the staff laughing all the time. Her room was always full of staff members listening to her story.
She leaves to mourn her death: a sister-in-law, Marian Rucker; two nieces, Francine (Poolar) Taylor and Yolanda Burley; five nephews, Vince, and Nathaniel, Jr., Taylor, Victor Boddie, Torilyn, Carmon (Gail), and Cortney Burley; one goddaughter, Shenna Groom; one great niece, Deidre Taylor; three great nephews, Grady "Toejoe" Taylor (Paula), Warren, and Demetriums Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss and mourn her passing.
A Change ofAddress ...
Dear Family and Friends, I want to let you know that I have moved. I received a call from God, the Chief Architect, who informed me that my new home is ready and that I can move in immediately. You know that I have been sending up some timber, packing up and getting ready to go, but there were some minor finishing touches on some of the timber that only the Chief Carpenter, Jesus Christ, could do. Some
were too little, too broad, thick or not enough. Well, my home is finished, and it's such a beautiful sight to behold. It is located in an exclusive estate area, and it sits on a beautiful hillside where the entrance gates are made ofpearl and the streets are paved with gold. One thing is very strange; there are no calendars because everyday is Sunday. I haven't been given an assignment to boss, just yet. This place is really grand!
Love, Toody
