Superintendent Charlene Tarplin, daughter of Pr. & Mo. Willie C. (Virginia) Tarplin departed this life March 22, 1993.
Born February 5, 1948 Charlene worked for Department of RevenueMotor Vehicle Division.
A lifetime member of Triumph The Church And Kingdom Of God In Christ, Charlene served faithfully in her local church (Jonesboro Ga.) as President of the Missionary & Rescue Bands and Local Superintendent untilappointedStateS.O.W. & Y.P.E. Superintendent in 1987. An active member of the Ga. State Choir, the E. & A. Singers, the Life Giving Institutional Mass Choir, and Secretary of the Ga. State Treasury.
A devoted mother, Charlene (Ganny) is survived by daughter, Mrs. Norma T. (Anthony) Mitchell, son John Eric Tarplin, grandchildren Roman, Virginia (Renee), Demetrius and Kendra; sisters, Juanita Foster, Maxine T. Small, Virginia K. Tarplin and Mrs. Sharon (Anson) Gleaton; brothers Clarence, Charles, Jesse (Shirley), Gerald (Rhobielyn), Nathaniel and Bernard (Aleca) Tarplin; devoted friend, Gina Tolbert; two aunts, four nieces, fifteen nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
