I would like to thank my prayer sisters, the Majestic Choir, Compassionate Care Hospice, Murray Bros Funeral Home, Ben Hill UMC, and friends for the outpouring of love shown to our family.
Words cannot express how much it means during this difficult time.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee. God wanted me now; He set me free!

Pastor Richard D. Winn, Sr., Officiating
~~ ~ ~ was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 7, 1940 to the
late Margaret Doyle Bannarn and Anthony Sherman Bannarn. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Central High School.
Early on in her career Shirley began working as a legal secretary to a private attorney where she stayed for about ten years. Later, she worked as a reservationist for North Central Airlines, which moved her to Detroit, Michigan. In 1990, she moved to Atlanta and was employed by Wachovia Bank, where she monitored security.
Shirley was living in Minnesota when her illness began in 2009. She started making plans to relocate to Atlanta to be near her family. We truly believe God's divine plan led her here. She fought a long hard fight through numerous blood transfusions and several bouts of chemotherapy. Through the whole ordeal, Shirley trusted God all the way to the end. She was surrounded by her two daughters, her daughter's prayer partners, and a loving sister when she made her transition.
Shirley leaves to cherish her sweet memories, five children: Mrs. Cynthia (William) Holland, Margaret Reed, Allan Reed, Rosalind Reed, & Joseph Tanksley Jr.; one sister: Gloria Jean Pryor; two brothers: Richard James and John James; along with thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and host of other family members and devoted friends.
