In tribute to Miguel A. Sykes, we celebrate a life that cannot be summed up in a few words now measured by sheer quantity of its deeds.
Miguel was born December 8, 1963 in Pensacola, Florida to George . Sykes (Joyce) and late Dr. Diane Jackson. Miguel graduated rom Pontiac Northern High School in Pontiac, Michigan. After high chool, Miguel furthered his education at Alabama State University
n Montgomery, Alabama.
:~~=-~~-~---r. He later moved back to Pensacola, Florida but settled in AHanta, Georgia where he furthered his career working with adu~ men in the mental health profession. He
then started working at The Frazer Center in the Adult Department He was instrumental in starting the Special Olympics Program. Miguel led The Frazer Center Dream Team to win several Gold Medals in Bocce; Bowling and Track.
Miguel joined the Faith Walk Ministries, INC. under the leadership of Bishop Dianne Collins in College Park, GA. Miguel was a very fa~hful member working with the Ushers. He participated in Homiletics Classes and rendered an inspiring sermon at the end of the session.
He was preceded in death by his sister Katrina Sykes-Williams and nephew Herbert Fletcher IV.
Miguel leaves to dlerish his memories Aunt Janet Thompson, Pensacola, FL; three brothers, Kevin D. Hall and Charles E. Sykes (La-Toya) both of Alanta, GA, J;,ey Butts, Michigan and a host of extended family and very special friends. Officer Gertrude Nelson, Terroll Roberson and Harold Miller continuously provided the farnly with overwhelming support. Miguel was a spirited man, very loving and caring..He could be counted on to lend that extra pair of hands. He will be missed by famly and friends.
