We needed you here, But God called you there, And while we cannot understand, Why things happen as they do, The One who hangs the rainbows out, Has His own plans for you.

In his magnificent wisdom, God sent an angel to visit Kenneth A. Strickland on the morning of October 20, 2016. Our beloved Kenneth was born on August 5, 1961 to Claude and Ernestine Strickland. He was the middle child with one older and one younger sister. This birth order prepared him to be the family diplomat with a no-nonsense disposition for his siblings and extended family.
~~ graduated from D.M. Therrell High School in 1979. He served in the United
States Navy from 1979 - 1982 and also studied at Georgia State University. He married the love of his life, Theresa Dallas Strickland in 1986. She possessed the soft spoken, sweet spirit that he had always admired in his mom. He was a devoted husband, and to this union three children were born: Matthew Claude, Mark Dallas and Brittany Angel. He was a proud father and stern disciplinarian with his sons, but a softy with the light of his life, baby girl, Angel. He cherished the time spent with his only grandson, Mark.
~~ loved celebrating life and enjoyed people, especially his family and beloved
classmates of 1979. He coordinated class outings like cookouts and "Flashback" concerts. He enjoyed pick-up basketball games with close friends and Joe Brown and Lawrence Williams, who he considered as brothers.
~~ began a long, successful career with the United States Postal Service in 1985.
At work he displayed a jovial personality and enjoyed sharing jokes on the job and at their favorite hang-out, Dairy Queen. He remained employed there until his untimely departure.
~~ leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Theresa; sons, Matthew and Mark, daughter,
Angel; grandson, Mark, Jr., parents, Claude and Ernestine Strickland; mother-in law, Edna Dallas, two sisters, Michelle Strickland Williams and Tamra Strickland Hall (John); one sister-in -law, Deborah Dallas Maye, three brothers-in-law, Joseph J. Dallas (Pamela), James Dallas (Celeste) and Waymond Dallas (Tynese); twenty-one nieces and nephews, and a host of aunts, great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
