Sis. Rosa Stone
J
SIS. ROSA STONE was born August 15, 1906 in Dooley County to Mattie
Neal and Jeffrey Neal. She was the youngest of 3 sisters and 2 brothers all who preceded her in death.
Sis. Rosa Neal Stone married Mr. H. J. Wallace and to this union was born 2 sons: James C. Wallace and Ulysses Wallace. She later marriedMr. Robert Stone, who preceded her in death.
Over 50 years ago Sis. Rosa Stone joined Turner Monumental A.M.E. Church and there she remained until her death.
Sis. Stone was a strong pillar of the church, she supported the church financially and physically. She was a faithful class leader, a loyal and inspiring member of Choir No. 2 and the H. Jackson Chorus. She was a stewardess on the Trustee Board and an untiring member of the Down Home Club and the Ulric George 50 Year Oub. She served her church any way that she could for the ongoing of God's Kingdom. Sis. Rosa Stone will be fondly remembered by her family, church family and friends. We will miss the way she fed our stomachs with delicious meals, fed our souls with her soul-stirring tenor voice and the humor that could cheer you up when you were down. We will remember her singing 'Without God, I Could Do Nothing, Without Him I Would Fail, Without Him My Life Would Be Rugged, Like A Ship Without A Sail."
She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons - James C. Wallace and Ulysses Wallace, god daughter -Rosa Lee Gresham, niece -Mrs. Lula Hurd and family, 4 grandchildren- Gillespie, Wallace, Theodore Wallace, Camika Towns, and LaSonya Bellamy, 6 great grand children and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
