Melvin Gene Stone (Big Daddy) enter this world on Feb. 24, 1948 to the union of Eugene & Carrie Lee (Betty) Stone. He was hom in Cleveland, Ohio. Soon after his birth the family moved back to Atlanta where . Melvin attended elementary and Washington High School.

Melvin dearly loved his family. He and his wife Shirley cared for his envalid brother Larry Stone for many yeats until his passing. Melvin was a funny guy, he was easy to joke and laugh with. He had a kind heart and he tried to help his family as much as he could.
Melvin was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin; he will be dearly missed. Melvin will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
He will live on in the memories of his wife (Shirley), his father Eugene Stone, his sister Carolyn Hairston(Ronald); brothers Danny Stone (Angela); Gregory, Keefe, Dexter, and Detrick Stone; his daughters Betty, Carolyn, Kristina and Veronica Smith; and Sand Terrance Jenkins; and son Charles Smith; 30 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-laws Sarah Lynch and Mary McMillon; brother-in-laws Johnnie, Jordan and Lawrence Lynch; and a host of beloved friends.
