"I'M NOT DEAD, I'M JUST AT PEACE"
I'm not dead , I'm just at peace. I just needed a rest. I wanted to stay a little while longer, But God knows best. I've met a Savior that gives out love; Love instead of hate. I want you to seek and find this Savior before it is too late. God saw me getting weary, So He did what He thought best. He came and stood beside me , And whispered, "Come and rest." So don't worry .. ! aa happy. I'm where I want to be; Remember God is standing there, Whenever you get weak.

OBITUARY
Bishop William H. Stewart was born on May 5, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, the beloved son of the late George and Cleophus Stewart. He received his formal education from the Booker T. Washington High School in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Being of Christian heritage, he was brought up and trained in the fear and admonition of God. Thus at an early age, he confessed a hope in Christ and attended the Freewill Baptist Church.
He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Mattie L. Howard on March 5, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The Stewart's had many fruitful and loving years together.
After leaving Evansville, Indiana in 1959, the Stewart's established permanent residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He united with the Christ Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop P.J. Henderson.
In 1961, he organized the New Jerusalem Evangelistic Temple located on Walnut St. During the years the church progressed and for the past sixteen (16) years, it has been located at its present address of 925 West Burleigh St.
History will record in the Lamb book of Life the many kind deeds that our beloved has rendered, for he was kind, thoughtful, and compassionate. He will be fondly missed and remembered. May the joy of having touched shoulders with him during this life on earth penetrate into our hearts as a shining light to cherish forever.
