1} The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6} Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (KJV)
Keewren Stewart was born November 8, 1942 in Barbados West Indies to the late Byron Dacosta Stewart and Getrude Stewart.
1
She was the youngest of four children. She attended Edge Hill Memorial Elementary School and Malvern High School. After moving to New York she attended CF Young Secretary Business School.
Keewren worked for the United Negro College Fund and the Amalgamated Textile in New York until she decided to start her own in-home childcare business. With her great love and compassion for ch ildren and with a mix of West Ind ian/old school discipline her school grad uated hundreds of ch ildren who have gone on to become productive men and women.
Keewren accepted Christ at an early age and had a deep love for God which she showed wherever she went. She became a licensed and ordained minister before organizing and pastoring the Faith Community Baptist Church, New York. This small family church w hich served the inner city communit y was her greatest joy and she pastored until her health failed her. When Keewren moved to Georgia in 2010 she joined the Berean Christian Church; and just this year, helped her son Pastor Lionel Stewart to organize the Faith Community Christian Church which is a tribute to her.
Keewren was a fighter despite her illness and lifes obstacles she never gave up. She loved her family dearly and constantly gave of herself.
Keewren leaves to cherish her memories two sons Hugh "Lionel" Stewart and Orai"Andy" Stewart; one daughter, Darlene Williams (Clarence); five grandchildren, Katrina, Danielle (Kwame), Lionel Jr., David and Tanisha; three great grand children, Alyssa, Amaya and Isaiah; Her nephew but adopted son, Tony Marshall (Diane). She also leaves her only remaining sibling Byron Stewart (Shirley), her brother-in-law, Gilbert Marshall. She will be missed by her many nephews and nieces, adopted sons and daughters and a host of friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister Shirl ey Marshall and eldest brother Edmund Stewart.
