Known affectionately by some as Chip, was born to Ostenia Lee on May 3rd, 1952. In 1955, he was adopted by Catherine Sterrs, a good friend of his birth mother. Frank was a highly talented student, often receiving high praise ~~~=====:=-. from his teachers. Up to the age of 16, Frank was privileged to have both his birth
mother and adopted mother in his life. In 1968, Ostenia Lee died tragically, forever taken away from Frank's life. Notwithstanding, Frank graduated from high school a year early with honors and a full scholarship to Morehouse College. After a year, Frank decided to leave college for a life of work as well as marry his high school sweetheart, Brenda Louise Davis. In 1973, Frank and Brenda gave birth to their only child Tamika Sakayi Sterrs.
Frank discovered that in addition to been endowed with a great intellect, he was mechanically inclined. Hence, he completed training to be a Master Plumber for the UA Local 72 Plumbers and Pipefitters of Atlanta. He was highly accomplished in his work and in very high demand. So much so, he operated his own plumbing business on the side called "FLY Plumbing," invoking his favorite movie of all times, "Superfly." Like the protagonist in the movie, young Frank in his twenties, dunned an afro, dressed impeccably, and drove a beautiful1971 Eldorado Cadillac in his favorite color, sky blue. Frank Sterrs was very meticulous about managing and saving his money wisely. He was an outstanding ..__.. provider for his young family, taking them on memorable road trips when he was able. Frank also used his talent for building and mechanics to renovate and build additions to the family home himself without any assistance. Frank was an avid hobbyist. He was passionate about chess, pool, basketball, and music. Often you would hear Frank playing his trumpet along with his "boom box" in the newly added room in the family home.
In 1987, Frank and Brenda parted ways for the final time although they had been divorced for many years. Later that year, Frank fell in love with and married a childhood friend, Theresa
Gail Walker. The two enjoyed life together - traveling and sharing their love for computer technology. Frank continued with his hobbies, including his love for music. When he wasn't playing his trumpet, Frank always had his favorite songs playing softly in his space. When cellphone technology permitted him to do so, music accompanied his person everywhere he went. His love for music inspired his daughter to pursue a career in teaching music. It was also a way father and daughter bonded. They have done numerous duets for trumpet and flute as well as with piano and other instruments on his daughter's visits to the family home.

In 2007, Frank retired from a long career in plumbing, setting out to enjoy life and travel. In 2008, the same year of Brenda's passing, Frank's health problems began. In 2012, Frank tragically lost his second wife, Theresa to a sudden illness. In 2013, God blessed Frank with a beloved friend and love, Essie Jackson, who ended up caring for him in his worst times of illness and suffering.
Frank Terrell Sterrs will always be remembered for his superior intellect, wisdom, his quirky personality, and most of all his love for his family.
