Obituary
Donald]. Sowell, was born August 26, 1949 to the late]oseph and Helen Sowell (Moody). He was the third of seven children. Donald accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and became a member of First Baptist Church of Crown Heights in B -ooklyn, New York. Upon relocating to Georgia he became a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Decatur ,Georgia. Donald attended New York City Schools. A dedicated employee with the City of New York; He advanced to become a Deputy Director for the City of New York Welfare System (Far Rockaway) where he retired after 30 years of service.
As the Lord would have it, Donald departed this life on]anuary 30, 2011. He leaves the following with an abundance of memories: his daughter, Donna Sowell; three grandchildren: Richard, Donavan and 1'itianna. One sister: Dale Hill; fow brothers: Douglas Sowell , Daryl Sowell, joseph Sowell II, and Keith Sowell. Uncle john (Sompong) King,; Nieces: Heather, Rachel, and]acole; Nephews: Bryan Keith, Brian Gill), Mason, Jason (Carla), joseph III (Nicole),]ernlaine, Benjamin Edward, and]oseph IV . Cousins:]uanita, Shannon,]errod , Delores (Teddy) as well as a host of loving family, dear friends, and neighbors.
