OBITUARY
Gertrude "True" Kirvin Somerville, age 82 -was born on January 28, 1922 in Florence, South Carolina to the late George Kiivin and Nettie Groundsop Kirvin. She was educated in the Florence, South Carolina school system. She migrated to Brooklyn, New york in the 1940's where she met and married the late James Somerville Sr., and from this union they had six children. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989 after 16 years. She worshiped at Now Faith Ministry church under Rev. Aaron Johnson, where she learned, "yes I can through Christ." She always loved the Lord, grew in faith and understanding , constantly called upon her savior and hummed to Him _ constantly with praise. Her favorite scriptures included John 14:12 and Psalm 23. She loved-her children dearly .and~ referred to them as her jewels. She was also pre~deceased by her daughter, Barbara S. Nesbitt, her son, Rev. James Somerville Jr., her brothers, Roosevelt, Lawrence,
Adam and Benson Kirvin and hei sisters~ Essie Ham aiid Grace Jenllins.
She was a great teacher of love for each other, respecting and helping the needy and fe~ding the hungry as well as loving pets. She had a great pride in garde~g and-believed she c~mld make anything grow. Her grand children always knew her to visit and give directions and insight in their lives. They knew that if they rudnJ_visit her she would visit them. She truly loved being able to see the generation of great grand children that are still mentoring. Due to a severe illness, God has called her. Her suffering has ended. The circle of her life has cmne:to a close. God has her in His keeping and we have her in our hearts. Surviving are 2 daughters, Laura S. Bryant of Jersey City, and Judy S. Gee of Freehold, 2 sons, Berney and Lee Adam Somerville of Jersey City, NJ, her sister, Evangelist Allie Johnson of Florence, SC, her brother, Deacon Josh Kirvin of Warner Robins, GA, 15 _grand children and 19 great grand chi!dren as well as many other relatives and friends.

G.od saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you and whispered,
"Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
