A Mother's Prayer
Fourteen years ago feeling hurt and alone God sent you to help me make it along.
Each year your smile helped ease the pain Soon the hurt was no longer in vain. I wanted you to have the best, Happiness, joy, and sweet success I held you close, as Mothers do
Afraid to lose or have someone mistreat you But you were the child that people enjoyed Your smile, your wit, and your quest for joy
And Mom being Mom let them employ I 'm thankful for all ofthe men, friends, and women
Who tried to help me mold this human gem I've always tried to mend the pain
I know and believe those efforts weren 't in vain. For God so graciously as He always does Dispatched His angels from up above You had a great time with the early years
But the middle years brought heartache andfear Mom has always tried to make it right
But after five long months, I gave God this fight We must always do his Will and know that He is in control
Evil will not prevail against the Will ofGod He answered my prayer and took over the rod Eliscia Robene, you are now in the only place Where you will be loved and protected like Mom
Stay close to Mom and Dad
Liscia, rest in peace baby, rest in peace. Thanks for being there when I needed you most. Your love helped me make it through.

Eliscia was born March 30, 1985 in Pensacola, Florida, following the death of her grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Calvert. She was named Eliscia Robene in their honor. Her birth brought comfort and inspiration to her mother. On March 19, 1999 God called one of his angels, Eliscia to peace and rest.
She moved with her family to Atlanta, Georgia in 1986. She attended Rockbridge Elementary, Livsey Elementary, and was a student attending Peachtree Middle School. Eliscia loved drawing, music, swimming, basketball, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a friend to many whom she met. She was active with her school's Future Educators of America Club. She always had a smile and enjoyed helping others, especially young children. She also liked to spend time with her dog Fluffy.
Eliscia faced some confusing and hard times her last year. Despite counseling , love, and support, she felt it was simply too late. She always tried not to hurt and disappoint others. The great comfort is that she made peace with everyone before God called her home. There was a sense of calmness the day she went to Glory that now can be understood and remembered .
Cherishing Eliscia's memory is her loving and supporting parents (paternal and stepparents); four siblings (step), Chatesia , Kenya , Ingrid, and Tavares ; five aunts, Vivian Reynolds, Detroit, Michigan, Mary Grace Brantley,Willie Mae Terrell , Maggie Grace Harris, Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Thomas, Tampa , Florida, and Jackie Williams, Rochester, New York; six uncles, Curtis (Vernell) and Earl (Donna) Williams, both of Rochester, New York, R. Z. Gissendanner of Ozark, James (Judy) Roseberry, John (Angie) Roseberry, and Walter Roseberry; godparents, Laurent and Angela Heard (Geoffrey, Laurent), Pensacola, Florida; four godsisters, Tara Williams, Wanda Weber, and Lauren and Jazmyne Williams; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many loving, dedicated, and loyal teachers, associates, and friends.
I 'm free and at peace, let not your hearts be troubled!

A Tribute To My Daughter
You came into my life when I neededyou most. For thirteen years, I shared my love for you with many others. I talked and talked, but when I prayed, God saw fit to bring peace to all. I now know that you tried your best now and God does too. He has answered my prayer and not let evil have my baby. You have always made me proud to be your Mom.
I will cherish our everlastingmemories. I often times would joke and call you myfirstborn and with pleasure, you would say "your only born ". God in his divine wisdom would not allow your inner struggle to prevail.
The greatest comfort I have is knowing that everyday of your life I gave you all I could. I 've often said to you that there is no book on parenting and if I make a mistake, I'll just go back and try again. Thank you for helping me learn the tough art ofparenting. Well, Eliscia, there is no book on being a teenager, you were overpowered. You did your best baby, y ou did your best. Rest in peace, "Eliscia."
