Mrs. Thelma T. Smith was born January 29, 1935 to the late William and Annie Jane Turner in McDonough, Georgia . She was the fifth child born to this union.

On April 17, 1960, she married Mr. Eugene Z. Smith and was blessed

with three lovely children: Terrence "Gene, Jr.", Dina "Tony" and Gayla

"Cupcake/Sister".

s Thelma received her early education in the public schools of
McDonough, Georgia. Upon moving to Atlanta, she attended David T. f

Howard High School and graduated in 1953.

o/ At an early age, Thelma joined Springfield Baptist Church in

McDonough, Georgia . She moved to Atlanta and united with Mt. Zion I

Second Baptist Church. Later in life, Thelma became a faithful member of Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church. She continued her religious journey,

where she became a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Church and f
then moved on to Berean Christian Church . As a devoted member of

Berean, Thelma was a member of the Trustee Board, Maintenance /t,

Ministry, Choir and Mother Board until her health failed .

To some that may not have known, Thelma had a love for bowling.

She leaves to cherish her love and memories a devoted husband, p

Eugene Z. Smith; three children, Terrence E. Smith (Julanna), Dina N.
Smith, and Gayla J. Smith; one sister, Mary A. Turner; five
grandchildren, Navin Smith (Lynn), Mentwon Young, Terkeler Smith, f

c Dequitta Smith and Roderick Green, Jr.; four great grandchildren,

Nakyrious, Nakiya, Jamari and Jailyn and a host of nieces, nephews, church member children and devoted friends.
